Yesterday, the second lesson of the Organize Your Paper Clutter at Simplify 101 was released. Lesson two centers around the collection of papers and deciding on what needs to be done with the papers as they are received, whether “to be done” involves actual actions (including tossing junk) or storing the papers for some amount of time. I find the most useful part of the lesson to be the included reference sheets. The chapter information is good, but the reference sheets provide the most clarity. Especially a flow chart that acts as a guide to deciding what to do with each paper.
On recommendation from the lesson, I’m going to finally buy a shredder. A small contributer to my paper clutter is the fact that I hang on to credit card offers longer than I should simply because I want to cut them up (for security) and that takes time. Time is not anywhere near in excess in my home.
Unfortunately, between being exhausted from the weekend and being rather busy with preparing to move, I don’t think I’ll have much time to dig into acting upon the ideas of this lesson.
